This Is My Neighborhood!

This Is My Neighborhood! is a week long event planned by the Cedar Riverside Community Collaboration group. The week kicks off today with Global Youth Service Day. The week of community service and beautification ends on Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22nd with a community celebration!

All businesses, organizations, community members and friends of the community are invited to get involved with events throughout the week.

Saturday, April 18th – The Cedar Riverside Explorers program will be cleaning up the "Back Yard" and doing an art installation at the Brian Coyle Center from 1:00-4:00 pm. To volunteer contact Mohamed Mohamed at mohamed@westbankcc.org


Sunday, April 19th - West Bank Community Gardening Project is hosting a work day at the West Bank Community Garden from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. To volunteer or to get more information contact Louis Mielke at mielk132@umn.edu

Sunday, April 19th - GIRLS Program will be hosting a Walk for Wellness on Sunday, April 19th at 3:00 pm at Currie Park. Come out and join the GIRLS in getting healthy and staying active. Registration starts 2:30 pm on the south side of the Brian Coyle Center. For more information contact Jennifer Weber at jweber@crcs-school.org


Monday, April 20th - Cedar-Riverside Community School will be doing community clean up and planting a butterfly garden in the plaza at Riverside Plaza apartment complex from 3:00-5:00 pm. Volunteers are welcome and should register with Brad Gangnon at Bgangnon@crcs-school.org


Tuesday, April 21st - The Bluff Street Park Task Force, of the West Bank Community Coalition and Seward Montessori School will be cleaning up the Bohemian Flats and West River Road areas from 10:30 am – 12:00 pm. For more information contact Mohamed Mohamed at mohamed@westbankcc.org

Tuesday, April 21st - The Sabo Center at Augsburg College and Seward Montessori School will be cleaning up the community garden at Augsburg College from 10:15 am – 1:00 pm. For more information contact Mary Laurel at truem@augsburg.edu

Tuesday, April 21st – Brian Coyle and Augsburg Campus Kitchen will be planting seedlings from 5:00-6:00 pm for their community garden. For more information contact Andrea Arts at ArtsA@puc-mn.org


Wednesday, April 22nd - West Bank Community Gardening Project is hosting a planting day at the West Bank Community Garden from 2:00 pm - sunset. To volunteer or to get more information contact Louis Mielke at mielk132@umn.edu

Wednesday, April 22nd - The West Bank Business Association (WBBA) is hosting a neighborhood cleanup & graffiti removal event from 12:00-4:00 pm on Earth Day (April 22).They will provide gloves, cleaning supplies, and trash bags. Please meet them at Edna's Park (next to Wienery) and branch out from there. Connect to the WBBA website for more information about all the work they do in the community www.thewestbank.org
